About us

Who we are

We are a team of change-makers dedicated to helping children, women and the Elderly achieve their goals. We empower them with the knowledge and resources they need to create a better future for themselves.

African Response Foundation (ARF) is a Ugandan Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) registered with National NGO Bureau registration number INDR13699739NB. It is also registered as a company limited by guarantee with Uganda Registration Service Bureau. ARF is licensed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to operate as an NGO under Permit number INDP000739NB as issued on 5th April 2018.

The African Response Foundation was founded in 2013 by a group of concerned citizens who were moved by the plight of vulnerable communities in Africa particularly Uganda. Since then, we have grown into a leading organization in the region, with a strong reputation for delivering effective and sustainable programs. We started extending help to needy children and destitute women who were eager to study and work for a better life respectively. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different villages to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible. We now run shelter homes,  a semi-strucured school and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people.

Our approach

Our Mission

ARF’s mission is to promote human dignity, human rights and peace, equality and non-discrimination, integrity, transparency and accountability, non-partisan participation, sustainable stakeholder empowerment and hard work.
Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.

Our Vision

ARF’s vision is to be part of the community socio-economic transformation processes and actions in all spheres and at all levels in the country and elsewhere as essential pillars of development.

Our entire team wants to see a world where every woman, child & Eldery person struggling in any way feels able to reach out and has people who’ll help them with education, jobs, and more. We want to spread out in every region in uganda and then africa at Large and eventually the whole world.

Our numbers that speak

To date, we have provided assistance to over 1000 orphans and vulnerable children.
Our women’s empowerment program has helped over 700 women to improve their economic opportunities.
Our campaigns for gender equality and children’s rights have led to policy changes that have positively impacted the lives of over 1 million women in Uganda only.

We have numbers that push us to give in our best and make sure that we break our own records. We are happy to be growing and helping more day by day.
