AFRICAN
RESPONSE
FOUNDATION

A fair & just world for Women, Children and The Elderly.

What we do

ARF provides orphaned, elderly, destitute women and other needy people with home, love and happiness. ARF also provides them with education on a range of issues, including access to justice, food and water. It also helps them build resilient livelihoods by engaging with government agencies, partners and others that are key to developing communities.

Our Impact

Recent Projects:
We have recently opened a new orphanage in Hoima, Uganda that provides a safe and nurturing home for orphaned children. The orphanage has capacity for 50 children and provides them with a comfortable and safe living environment, nutritious meals, healthcare, education and vocational training. We have also launched a program to provide education and vocational training for women in Hoima, rural Uganda, helping to empower them and improve their economic opportunities. This program includes literacy and numeracy classes, as well as training in small business management, tailoring, and other skills. Our campaigns for gender equality and children’s rights have led to significant policy changes in several countries in Africa, ensuring that more children have access to education and that women have greater representation in leadership roles. This includes, for example, the passing of laws to combat child labor and child marriage.

We Find & Fund

We strive to help children, women, and the elderly as much as possible. We approach people who are in need of assistance and fund them if we can.

We Provide Care

Today’s women and children need assistance in every aspect of their lives. We provide them with the necessary guidance so that they can succeed.

We Educate

We operate small-scale schools and vocational training centers for underprivileged children, unemployed and low-income women.

We Employ

We employ destitute women as part of our community outreach programs to help them achieve their dreams and bring hope to their families.

Those who have benefited from our Programs

"I lost my parents when I was just a child and I was left alone with no one to take care of me. I was taken in by the African Response Foundation and given a home at one of their orphanages. They not only provided me with a safe and loving environment but also with education and vocational training. I am now a university student studying computer science and I have a bright future ahead of me thanks to the African Response Foundation."

"I was living on the streets, with nowhere to go and no one to turn to. The African Response Foundation's outreach team found me and provided me with a safe place to stay, and I was able to enroll in the vocational training program. I learned new skills and was able to start my own business, and now I am able to provide for myself at my old age. I am so grateful for the opportunity that the African Response Foundation gave me."

"I grew up in a small village in hoima, Uganda and had very little opportunity to improve my life. But when the African Response Foundation came to our village and offered education and vocational training to women, I saw a chance to change my life. I took the opportunity and learned how to sew and make clothes. Now I have my own tailoring business and I am able to provide for my family and even employ other women in the village. I am so grateful to the African Response Foundation for giving me this chance."

"I was one of the many girls in my community who were forced into child marriage. The African Response Foundation's campaign for children's rights helped to change the laws in my country and put an end to child marriage. Because of this, I was able to return to school and continue my education. Now I am able to dream of a better future for myself, and I am determined to be a voice for girls in my community who are still facing this issue."
